Identification

22–32 cm (8½-12 in)

  • Grey head and neck
  • Brownish crown and crest
  • Bright red orbital ring, bill, and legs
  • Reddish brown body, darker rump and wings.

Distribution

North-eastern Mexico.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Moist montanes and plantations.

Behaviour

The diet includes seeds and fruits.
