Identification

South America: found in the Andes of western Bolivia (La Paz, Cochabamba and western Santa Cruz).

This is a monotypic species^[1]; an additional subspecies bejaranoi is not accepted by all authorities^[2].

This species might belong in a different genus and the scientific name would then become Asthenes harterti.

Moist montanes and high-altitude grassland.
