Male

  • Metallic green upperparts and breast
  • White undertail coverts
  • Deep blue throat
  • Dark, slightly forked tail
  • Black-tipped slender red bill

Female: less colourful, white eye stripe

Taxonomy

Turquoise-crowned Hummingbird and Tres Marias Hummingbird were recently split from Broad-billed Hummingbird.
