Identification
AKA Brown-throated Sunbird
The male has a pale brown throat, with dark iridescent green upperparts, an olive tinge to the wings; its upper tail coverts and rum are purple, and its underparts are yellow.
The female has olive upperparts and yellow underparts. It has a narrow yellow patch above and below the eye.
Distribution
Myanmar to southern Indo-china through the Malay Peninsular south to the Greater Sundas, Bali and Philippines.

Habitat
Mangroves,beach scrub,riverine vegatation,forest edges,plantations and gardens.
Behaviour
Frequents trees as well as low shrubs. Very active and noisy,flitting about in search of nectar and small insects. Often feeds high on flowering coconut palms.
