Description
This genus contains only one species, the Plushcap from South America.
A very distinctive species with a stubby thick bill.

Catamblyrhynchus is a monotypic genus in the family Thraupidae.
The relationships of this genus are uncertain. It has also been placed in a monotypic family (Catamblyrhynchidae) or within the Emberizidae.
