Identification
24 cm
- Green tinged blue, especially below
- Olive-brown chest
- Bright red underwing coverts

Juvenile has a feathered greenish head
Distribution
Brazil south of the river Amazon.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species after Bald Parrot was split from Vulturine Parrot.
Formerly placed in genus Pionopsitta; it has also been placed in genus Gypopsitta.
Habitat
Humid forests.
Behaviour
The diet includes seeds and berries.
