This astonishing species was only discovered in 1996 (described two years later) and is highly endangered. Total range is approx. 1 km2. While obviously highly endangered a conservation program has been started and they already made several great discoveries (e.g. the first known nest). Few people know this species better than Ciro Albano and it is well worth checking his great photo of it (as well as his other great photos from this highly threatened corner of Brazil):
