Warehouse Express are selling the 170-500 F5.6-6.3 APO for £399 and the DG version for £548 in a Nikon fit.

I'm thinking of purchasing either a D50 or D70s shortly so am interested in the above lenses

What is the difference between these two lenses (what is DG in other words)
and would the cheaper one be ok on either of the aforementioned DSLR's.

Is the extra £148 worth it?

Thanks

I have a few non-DG sigma lenses and have never had any problems with them, so I keep saving money and buying non-DG ones...
