The Last Heavy Rain (1 Viewer)

In the bare and dry paddocks the windblown dust is flying
And the juvenile magpies to their mother for food they are crying
The creek has stopped flowing the drain is bone dry
And the last heavy rain we had was in July
The last heavy rain we had five months ago
And in the parched paddock only thistles do grow
And thistledown blowing in the warm Summer breeze
And the cattle are standing in the shade of the trees
People praying for rain but no rain on the way
And tomorrow it will be another warm day
And farmers for their cattle and sheep buying hay
And financial stress seems their lot sad to say
And water restrictions to all does apply
We badly need rain everywhere is so dry.
