A small step forward to macro heaven :-)! (Bombus hortorum)

Today's balcony visitor, a tiny, tiny bumble bee. The lobelias are tiny, and the bumble bee is not much bigger - definitely a young female worker :-)!

Recently we, the wife and I, read about nice super zooms at dpreview - http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q110superzoomgroup/ - and they liked the Panasonic Lumix FZ38 a lot (in some markets called FZ35, it seems, or if the FZ38 has a few features more - not sure).
Small, long zoom, and very light!

Having owned a Fuji super zoom, which I sold recently not being that happy with it, I wasn't interested in another super zoom, but my dear wife was; and when her ordered 14-150 zoom for her beloved Olympus PEN E-PL1 still hadn't arrived at our favourite photo shop, she took the plunge and bought a FZ38 :-)!

For a while I have been struggling with taking macros for a while, buying new, better lenses, and all that, but the results haven't been quite up to expectations.

So then I tried the wife's minuscle FZ38 camera, which boasts with a 18x zoom, HD movie recording and a lot more. I didn't expect amything. really, but wow!
