Bay-Backed Shrike

I heard the news that Bay-Backed Shrike had bred for the first time in the UAE (First Record of Breeding) and were residing in Masafi Wadi , UAE. I set off really early last Saturday and arrived at the Wadi about 6am. Took me about an hour to find the birds but they were very active. Managed some shots even though the temperature was in the High 30s C by this time.
Location
Masafi, UAE
Date taken
12/6/2010
Equipment used
Canon 7D, 500mm + 1.4tx
o:) Wow, what an attractive looking Shrike, so slim and long-legged!!! :bounce: Many congrats on finding it, Mike, the effort was worthwhile!!! o:) Superb souvenir you got of it!!! :t: :t:

congratulation Mike for this fantastic record. they were just a first sighting before two years, now they are breeding how fabulous, this proves my theory that neither the maynah nor the Indian silverbills are escape birds, they are not that petty, and not know for there song. i think they arrive here somehow and make a successful survival.
