Black-crested Bulbul - Thailand 2007
Black-crested Bulbul - Khao Yai National Park, Thailand 2007...
A fairly common but lovely bird. This is the subspecies P.m. johnsoni, to me, the most beautiful with the red throat...
Habitat
Evergreen Forest edges and secondary grows
Location
Khao Yai National Park, Thailand
Date taken
February 26, 2007
Scientific name
Pycnonotus flaviventris johnsoni
Equipment used
Nikon D70s + Tokina 80-400
Hi Alex,
We will see what they will do with this one in the new tax books. For the time being, it is being listed in HBW as Pycnonotus flaviventris johnsoni.

Hi Steve,
Flaviventris??? where and when did that came from???
As I saw your replay, looked through a series of books and all of them call this subspecies as Pycnonotus melanicterus johnsoni... (???)
Thank you so much for the tip.
Good job!
