Blue Salvia (Salvia ?)

Instead of photographing a perfect bloom, I found this one intriguing. Probably robbed of all its' nectar by the hummies, and withered from the midday sun.
Habitat
garden
Location
Fairfield, California
Date taken
September 17, 2007
Scientific name
Salvia ?
Equipment used
Canon Eos Rebel
Oh, yes, quite curious! Do you really think nectar-drinkers can dry it up and make it loose its exuberance under the hit? Never thought about it!

It was a good idea to take a picture of this slightly-shrivelled flower, it is still very pretty and makes a difference! :t:
