Bufflehead (Bucephala albeola)

The pond across from my house finally opened up this week, and its first visitors were a pair of male Bufflehead. I love the chunky, abstract shapes found in these birds' head markings.

Excellent well observed drawings. You have the head shape just right. Such cracking birds. I hope the females turn up soon.
