Saw this bird flitting around in a thicket while I was out for a walk.
It caught my eye because I didn't recognise it, even after I got the photos home on my laptop and got closer looks at it. I posted it in the bird ID section of Bird Forum, and the consensus is that it's an immature Indigo Bunting male. We're well outside their normal range, especially this time of year. It's only the 2nd one I've ever seen, the last being a totally blue mature male back in April/May 2017.
