California Towhee in snow. (Melozone crissalis)

We had a snow storm on the 19th. This Towhee and several Juncos just pecked down through the snow to get the seeds. You might call this a birdseye photo.

Grass Valley, CA

2-19-13
Scientific name
Melozone crissalis
Equipment used
Cannon EOS 5D MK III with Canon 100-400 mm lens.
Lovely close-up image, captured very nicely with vibrant color, good focus and cropped to show off this beauty. Many thanks for sharing your lovely image

Wow, this is really up close and the feather details are perfect. My birds disappeared during that snow storm because ours was mixed with hail. An awesome capture Phil.
