A nicely taken Blue bar cock bird Christine, his vocal range is limited to coo, coo, in muted tones.

Have kept Rarcing Pigeons for years, this bird is simply stretching. I'd say your lens is a winner.

Thanks Bob.There are large flocks in this area, many of whom wear a blue band on one leg anda green on the other. But,this area does have many racing pigeon owners, many of which are prize winners. They come to our beach from the local town, with large baskets of these guys, which they then fly, trouble is many birds of prey in the area!!!.People do illegally hunt the BOP because they think that they eat their pigeons, quite controversial.

When racing pigeons, Raptors come into play on a daily basis, the key is controlling your birds so they either up in the air or safely in their loft. The resident Cooper's look at a Loft as Diner and make frequent trips looking for a meal. I never lost that many but yes, they are expensive, but their's not much you can do.

Hunting is a factor we never had to worry about here in States.
