Chiloe Wigeon
Named after Chiloe Island it's pronounced chee-loh-WAY. Males and females look similar. Although there is no eclipse plumage, there appear to be bright and dull morphs in both sexes. This is a bright morph adult. The colored patch behind the eye is iridescent and may appear blue or green depending on the light. Formerly included in the genus "Anas" but transferred to "Mareca" to retain monophyly for "Anas."
