This is a goodluckdaywork, after walk for 8 days in the Andes. One the famoust bird of Peru, the specialist of polylepis forest.

It must be a rarity, I cannot even find it in our database, but I will make some enquiries into this. Looks like it is known as the Royal Cinclodes.

It was well worth your 8 day walk.

Many thanks Valre . We have now added the database slot for this bird... after some research and a little flexibility in our sibley/monroe based database. Plenty do recognise this as a distinct species and it may be that Sibley/Monroe will split it from Cinclodes excelsior when they get around to revising their list.
