Female goshawk (Accipiter gentilis)

Spent a bit of time trying to bring out the best from a photo showing the ultimate killing machine on the loose above a Suffolk pine plantation. I have no doubt this is the female- saw the male a bit later, he seemed a lot smaller and slimmer. No wonder there was a torn-apart pheasant lying on the ground nearby as I watched her flap lazily above a clearing
