One of the delights of the West Coast is to see the beautiful flag irises growing all over the place.

Sadly we didn't see too many in flower at that time, but I couldn't resist getting this picture of some.

They don't seem to mind the salty conditions and will often grow along the shoreline.

Nice to see them in their native setting. They are common here from early settlers bringing the bulbs with them. Now they are naturalized in many many areas. TFS these beautiful Irises with us D!
