Grasshopper Sparrow (Ammodramus savannarum)

Early morning on the South Dakota prairie and a first to identify and photo. Very few trees but to get a little better background color I moved over a couple feet to get one.

I've only seen this Sparrow once in my life so far but it sure was a treat.

This is a beautiful closeup shot of this species.

WOW what a fantastic looking sparrow, not seen a post for it before although the gallery had quite a few shot. it should a real special one.
