Great Northern Diver (Gavia immer)

This photo was taking from a canoe, less then 3 m distance. Tucked away in a little calm bay, the whole family of divers went on doing there own business around our little boat, drifting right through them. Might be common in NA, but in Europe you have to fly to Iceland to see them in summer plumage ...
