That really is an amazing deformity, isn't it Daley - I wonder what has caused it?

You've a great picture recording it .... actually I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't a juvenile now, developing male plumage, with the flecks on the upper wing coverts and the primaries beginning to look very dark now.
