I haven't posted any in-flight black headed gulls for a while - this gives some idea of just how grey and dull the weather has been up here recently!

Well caught, Keith. I think the flat light works well in this image and shows the birds adult plumage off nicely.

Thanks lads.

I agree that the flat light brings something of its own to the picture and looking at it objectively it's just as well it was dull - I've managed to blow the highlights as it is!
