Macro of ant dragging dismembered fly

It was getting late and the light was fading. Too close to use the flash so I used a torch as the light source which gave quite a nice feel to the overall image. The fly was still alive although it was missing 4 of its 6 legs and 1 of its wings so I guess the ant had removed them prior to dragging it back to the nest. Dslr + Vivitar 28mm close focus lens + 30mm macro extension tube taken of full manual mode, manual focus, ISO800, F11 and 1/30.

Outstanding image, Paul. There is much interesting life to be found after kneeling down before the great nature. Thanks for photographing that moment so beautifully.

Excellent shot Paul. You managed to focus well in that dim light and it looks a bit like a stage set the way you managed the lighting.
