Male Black-headed Grosbeak (Pheucticus melanocephalus)

They're back this summer. Haven't seen many in the last couple of summers. They seem to prefer sunflower seeds this year.
Habitat
Pines and oaks in Sierra Foothills.
Location
Grass Valley, CA
Date taken
7-3-2013
Scientific name
Pheucticus melanocephalus
Equipment used
Cannon EOS 5D MK III with Canon 100-400 mm lens.
Great photos of your male and female. I have just one pair here now and am hoping to see the little ones later this month. The sunflower seeds are going fast here too.
