More critters from the slough. High tide made it impossible for the little sandpeeps to forage along the slough.

I am taken aback at how pink the beaks are on these. They seem to be having a pleaseant day.
 
I was glad the captain was able to get the boat close enough for me to photograph the beak colors, because there were lots of Willets in the background, and I was starting to confuse the two species.
 
Nice. Do they remain all winter at The Slough? When I was there, I saw many but presumed they were just passing through, being such long distant migrants.
 
Great picture, hoping to see this species this December at Puerto Rico.

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. There is an ebb and flow of birds, but I haven't learned the cycle yet. Once again, you can never be bored at the slough.
