Melody Queen (Myophonus caeruleus)

It was summer of 1992
I was sleeping in a hill cottage
At 3 a.m. I was woken up
By sweetest of a melody
Wafting Through the air
It was a full moon night
With glory spread all over
Lake of Bhimtal
Shining like a jewel
Some distance away
The bird with stirring melody
flitted from one perch to another
That was my first encounter
With this hypnotizing Thrush
