Naranjilla (flower)
Naranjilla (Solanum quitoense: Solanaceae) A refreshing drink is made from its edible orange fruits. This native plant ranges from Central America south through Peru, the northern Andes of Venezuela and to southern Columbia. Ninety % of the commercially grown naranjilla exist in a fifteen mile area in the valley and adjacent hillsides of the Pastaza River, Ecuador, a tributary of the Amazon. I have never eaten the fruits but the drink is delicious. Beautiful shots of both the fruits and the flowers Stanley! It's interesting how many relatives of the tomato and potato there are, and how widespread.
