Ocellated Turkeys (Meleagris ocellata)

These two were in the parking area at the entrance to the ruins and were somewhat accustomed to people. The ones we saw inside wouldn't stay still long enough for a photo!

Glad y'all like them. Their Spanish name is Pavo Real or Royal Turkey and yes they are colorful. Many of the domestic turkeys in the Yucatan have some interbreeding with these wild birds and you can often see the blue head color / orange warts on the domestic birds here.
