Okinawa Rail 1
The morning started way too early, 0340 to be exact. My birding partner Tom showed up at 0420 and 10 minutes later, we were headed up to the northern end of Okinawa. At about 0600, after seeing a few Okinawa Rails dash across the road, we met up with our German film crew friends and they pointed out some rails in the bushes barely 3 meters away. I quickly grabbed my camera and excitedly started clicking away. Today was by far and away the best views and best photos of the Rail I had ever had. It was a lifer tick for my friend Tom so we were both happy as can be.
