One of my favourites
Race mesopotamiae. Although very common, the bulbul is one of my favourite birds of the region. You can find them in almost every garden and they have a pleasant melodious call.
Habitat
Sparse brush
Location
Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia
Date taken
23rd October 2006
Scientific name
Pycnonotus leucotis
Equipment used
Nikon D2Xs, Nikon 300mm 2.8VR, Nikon X2 converter
Very nicely captured. Could be my favourite birds too if they were in my garden.. :)

A beauty

Can I just check the Scientific name as the one you have put comes back to a Himalayan Bulbul...the nearest I can find to yours is a White-eared Bulbul Pycnonotus leucotis ,is this the same bird.

My Helm guide book shows them to be White-cheeked bulbuls, Himalayan Bulbul in brackets. Funny thing is I used to know them as white-eared bulbuls.

Cuckooroller has checked this one out and it is a White-eared Bulbul and he has amended the Sc. name as well.

As a result this is our new Database picture for this species. Well done a really good ID photo.
