Pectoral Sandpiper (Calidris melanotos)

Been here for almost two weeks. Havent had good light, quiet setting for most part until this morning. Wetlands encompass some residual corn fields. Each corn plant is host to aquatic and earth(worms) and number of other invertabrates. Terrestrial insects and corn seems to round out the diet and the birds. As they summer far to the north, they are our welcomed guest.

A gorgeous picture of this brilliant sandpiper. Great lighting, focus, color, feather detail, eye contact, background, and setting. First-rate Bill!!!

Sincerely thank everyone, very happy to have shared a little time with you all.
Migratory movement is a miracle, hope as birds continue journey someone else will
encounter and share with us all.

Best Regards,
Bill
