Looks like its resting on some fairy-tail table for gnomes complete with some gleaming green cobweb (got to be algae of some sort). I like the hunched posture and the mouse-grey tracing the contour of the head and scapulars.
 
Great shot Ian, Can I ask where in Cleethorpes this was seen please? Was it near the leisure centre or closer to the fitties end? Going back home on Boxing Day and haven’t found the right spot for watching yet…….

Thanks Mark. the bird winters on the shore between Grimsby North Wall and Cleethorpes Pier. Best chance of finding it would be to check the groynes and tideline between the Pier and north end of Promenade, around high tide.
