Seram Imperial-Pigeon
I believe this is a new species for the gallery. Endemic to a limited range on Seram and satellite islands in the south Moluccas. This large pigeon can be identified by its green wings, gray head and body and a noticeable white eye-ring. Formerly lumped with Spectacled Imperial-Pigeon (D. perspicillata) of the western and northern Moluccas.
Location
Huaulu, North Seram, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku, Indonesia.
Date taken
12 November 2023
Scientific name
Ducula neglecta
It reminded me of Green Imperial Pigeon I saw here in Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. Great capture.
