Endemic to the Philippines. Three races occur: Jefferyi in northern and central Luzon; pulcherrima on Basilan, Biliran, Dinagat, Leyte, Mindanao, Samar, and Siargao; and decorosa on Bohol. This photo is of race pulcherrima.
Habitat
Mid-altitude mountain forest up to 1500m and sometimes higher. Sometimes can be found in lowland forest.

Nice shot of this beautiful bird in action! I missed the male fork-tailed sunbird twice in Hong Kong and only got the female. May be next time, hopefully.
