Gilded Barbet
Gilded Barbet (Capito auratus) Photographed in a Ceiba Tree platform tower in the canopy. The tree is also known as Kapok or Cotton Tree. This platform tower overlooks an oxbow lake called Cocha Comungo. The oxbow lake is near Manu Wildlife Center Lodge, east of Boca Manu. River-edge forest, a lowland rainforest along the banks of Rio Madre de Dios at ca. 290 m elevation. Humid Forest Life Zone.
