Northern Barred Woodcreeper (Dendrocolaptes sanctithomae)

Taken with a Canon Point and Shoot from the bridge at Tirimbina, La Virgen, Costa Rica. White spot may be a molting feather.

Very impressive a great bird and wonderful picture and with a Canon Point and Shoot. I know that bridge quite well, I have been over it quite a few times over a few year period. Brilliant!!!
 
Thanks for the comments, everyone. That unfortunate insect in his bill took some time to subdue, allowing me a good bit of time to get set up and snap some shots. As you must know, Stanley, that bridge is a photographers' nightmare - when other people are using it, the whole structure shakes and sways. So, the timing was perfect for both birds and people!
