Lakescape - 29 : Kafkaesque

... A very small area of the
wetland seen in the last post,
taken on another day.

Kafkaesque...
....because of sheer
complexity...
...and for hoplessness and
impending doom.

Complex : ..because here
we see more than 5 feet tall
Sarus Crane , the tallest bird
to fly , with barely 5-6 inches
long stints , among the smallest
birds to migrate long distance...
coming all the way from the
Arctic Circle ...
...from tallest to the smallest ,
...and locals to migratory ,
..a complex intermingling

Hopeless : ..as there is no
chance of this wonderful wetland
surviving for next 5 years...

Impending Doom : ...construction of
Multi-Storey Luxury Apartment block
has already started barely a Km
away from this site...
...And this site is also marked __
My friend Chris(kten)
asked about the
white posts here ... will be
drained and reclaimed.

The Species seen here are :
1. Sarus Crane
2. Painted Stork
3. Black-necked Ibis
4. Great Egret
5. Pond Heron ( flying along the top edge )
6. Little Cormorant
7. Great Cormorant ( Partly Hidden )
8. Black-winged Stilt
9. Common Red-shank
10. Spotted Red-shank
11. Ruff
12. Little Stint
13. Temminck's Stint
Habitat

Location
Distt. Gurgaon ; Haryana ; India .

Yes it is so very sad that beautiful scenes like this will not be captured in the future.
Great job on the photo. It is fantastic to see all those species in one shot.

What a magical site Alok to have so many lovely species. A delightful composition.

Such a range of sizes for comparison here Alok. A beautiful example and well captured.

Brilliant range of species, Pity about the development this destruction of habitat is happening the world over. In Scotland at present it is massive Windfarm projects who carve up our Heather Moorland with hundreds of Miles of access roads then Kill the birds caught in the Turbines.
