Dunlin

I have been photographing two dunlin at Elton recently. They have been a joy. I have had them all but feeding out of my hand. The one in this image roosted about a foot away from my lens. The light was grim and the snow sure helped to lift up the beauty of this bird in its winter plumage.

Wow, what a smart looking picture this is. Beautiful closeup up with brilliant lighting from the snow. Exceptional focus, dof, color, feather detail, and eye contact. Stunning Adrian!!!

Very nice high-key image - love the low angle! Was the bird alone? I've found that one Dunlin alone is usually much less skittish than the whole flock.

Stunningly beautiful,Adrian!! The setting works perfectly with the colours of the bird. Warm clothes and thin gloves for this kind of shot!! Thanks for the tip,i will look for that clip.

Peach of a shot!
Despite the fact that it is not a garden bird, Dunlins can be very friendly and approachable.
