A Lonely Search On A Distant Shore... (Calidris alba)

This little Sanderling has somehow found himself on an extra-terrestrial beach, on a moon orbiting a hypothetical gas giant lightyears from this planet;)
The stars depicted in the sky is the Pleiades, a star cluster which can be seen from Earth with the naked-eye and well worth a look with binoculars. It is found in the constellation of Taurus.

I know I will get a telling off from KC and Doux for the long wait....sorry girls;)
Scientific name
Calidris alba
Equipment used
Acryllic paints
So thats where the Sanderling go when they migrate...Another super piece of work Sam.

Great to see a new piece of art from you. An incredible richness and accumulation of celestial sources of light from astronomical objects, was my first idea when I saw your piece today. The Pleiades, or Seven Sisters are not new to me but a good reason to read about them this morning. Interesting to me is due to their clear visibility from earth how they influenced different cultures.
The little bird shows more interest for the life on the beach and looks well-fed. The distant planet offers him reasonable conditions and a prosper life but who brought the Sanderling on this distant planet, lol. I guess you spent many hours painting this masterpiece, well worth your efforts and congratulations to you.

A brilliant caption and narrative. It was well worth the wait for this stunning artwork. Simply beautiful Sam !!! tfs.
