American Avocet (female) (Recurvirostra americana)

This Avocet had been carried up the Atlantic coast of the US by a large weather system. She stayed in the same area in a protected harbor, and was not bothered by photographers who came to take her photo while she chased small fish and insects.

She is lovely and you captured her beautifully. Great that detail on her distinctive upturned bill showing that she is a female. Excellent work!!!
