Gull-billed Tern (Sterna nilotica)

  • RMD
What a blow out of a day, first we watched a White-bellied Sea-eagle take a Little Egret then a while later a Whistling Kite take a Glossy Ibis, in my ten years or so of bird photography I have never witnessed such behaviour, very sad to see. To cap it all off when looking through my shots from today at home I realised I had a couple of a juvenile Wedge-tailed Eagle which is a first time ever for me after living in East Arnhem Land for thirty four years.

According to books I've read we're supposed to get them here but don't.

Terrific photograph, you really take me back to last July during our stay in the NT. I loved it.
