Bumble in the purple (Bombus)

Ann joined me for a cuppa and we then had a nice wander round the village.

A large patch of Rose-bay Willowherb was feeding this bumblebee.

If it's not a white-tailed, I'm stuck. Not very good at bees really.

It certainly has a white tail D! Gorgeous bee and flowers making a striking picture. TFS!
 
And I've given my bumblebee field guide to my daughter, so I can't help. But I can give you a second name for the herb: it's also called Fireweed - not for the flaming purple, but because it tends to sprout up where there's been a fire, filling in any new clearings.
