Wattled Jacana (Jacana jacana)

On our boat trip through the flooded forest (aka Igapo) near Manaus, we saw this jacana, a species which is found in Central and South America. Earlier in the morning we had seen a female jacana on a nest, built on one of the giant lily pads, at the Ecological Park de Janauari.

A gorgeous Jacana and a marvelous eye level close-up taken in a brilliant setting! Outstanding Helen! 95% of my pictures are taken either with a canon 100-400mm zoom or a canon 400mm prime f/4.0.
