Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes)

A great bird to see at close quarters. We've just spent a few days in the Southern Lakes staying near Sizergh Castle which proved an ideal base for early morning visits to look for Hawfinch. Between 7.30am - 9.00 am they were regularly in view. Occasionally they came to feed on the grass verges of the car park right in front of where we were stood.
By far the best and closest views we've ever had of them.
