The Colonial Puffin (Fratercula arctica)

In a moment of personal calm on Inner Farne Island I managed another photograph of a small group of Puffins amongst a much larger colony. I have added this shot as it has a view of a Puffin side on. If you look at the bill and fetch your field guide you may be able to estimate how old this bird is.

Also look at its striking orange feet, noting the individual claws. Its only when you really observe this bird closely that you take in the detail.
Habitat
Island
Location
Inner Farne Island
Date taken
26th May 2007
Scientific name
Fratercula arctica
Equipment used
Panasonic Lumix FZ30
I was about 50ft from these individuals and they seemed fine with me being there. When I took the shot I was on my own and there was nobody else present. The public were not on the island at this time. I noticed later when the public were present that the Puffin population had moved further away.

Thanks for all your comments.
