Tolima Blossomcrown (Anthocephala berlepschi)

Scarce endemic hummingbird. Seems this is the new/current "go-to" site for both this species and Tolima Dove. Additional photos of this species added to gallery for later update to Opus entry.

Gardens adjoining mainly secondary growth forest in foothills of Eastern Andes

Another set of tremendous images you have for us Chris.

I'm wondering if this is a female with a brownish crown, the other two images they seem to have chestnut in the crown, which appears to make them male. Have I got it right, do you think?

I'm preparing the images for including in The Opus article - thanks so much for letting us see them lad. I saw your post come in while I was in hospital and can now start to think about some work!
