Vigilant Tumblebug...

I believe. Part of the Dung Beetle family. I'm strictly a casual of observer of bugs. I do try to figure out id but I'm far from an expert. So if I make a mistake please let me know.

I really like insects but know too little about them (lol). Fabulous picture Clip! TFS!
I like them too. Birding led to butterflies and butterflies led to other bugs. I don't go out looking for bugs but while out birding I find bugs. I have seen some pretty cool ones and I have a butterfly life list of 129.

I cannot tell what country you are in from your profile info. but if you are in the U.S. I recommend Kaufman Field Guide to Insects of North America. No Field Guide can be comprehensive on the subject of insects as that guide would be huge. This guide does however give a good representation of all the insect main groups. I have actually been able to identify some of my bugs using just the book. If I can't however I can at least narrow it down to research further on the internet.
